Nature Center

Now that schools are out, kids need to have some fun and opportunities for new learning experiences.  The Springfield Conservation Nature Center is a little piece of the Ozarks within the city limits of Springfield. It's a place to enjoy nature's gifts.
Something exciting is always happening at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center at 4601 South Nature Center Way. Indoors you'll discover nature through programs, activities and displays. Outdoors, seasonal changes and unpredictable wildlife make each visit an adventure.
Surprise a white-tailed deer bedded in a cedar thicket. Smell the fresh scent of the Ozark woods after a rain.  At the Springfield Conservation Nature Center there are trails to walk, exhibits to explore, and videos and programs to enjoy.  it's a place to experience and learn about the Missouri outdoors.

After your visit to the Nature Center, stop by Harter House at 1500 E Republic Road, just a few blocks away.  You and the kids will delight in a Gelato Mio, Gourmet Italian Ice Cream.  And while you’re here, pick up something special for dinner. Now everyone is happy!
